In the Footsteps of Patanjali Workshop
With Shirley Daventry French and Leslie Hogya

Shirley is a student of the yoga Master B.K.S. Iyengar and one of North America's most experienced teachers of his method of yoga. She has been teaching in Victoria for thirty years, and gives workshops nationally and internationally. She has also studied extensively with Swami Sivananda Radha at Yasodhara Ashram, British Columbia.
Leslie has been teaching in Victoria since the early 70's and has been active in the the local centre since then. She has studied in Pune seven times, most recently in Dec. 06., and also attended the U.S. conference with Geeta in May 2007. Leslie is President of IYAC and also serves on the Iyengar Yoga Centre Board. Leslie has taught in the U.S., Thailand, and most recently in Mexico.

Summer Rural Retreat

Louie Ettling is the Director of The Yoga Space. She has been a keen student of Iyengar Yoga since she started her studies with Wende Davis in the eighties. She has studied with B.K.S Iyengar and his family in Pune, India and in North America on six occasions and with senior Iyengar Yoga teachers from all over the world. For the past twelve years Louie has shared her love of the subject by teaching seriously and with humour. She is supportive and challenging of students' own intelligent exploration of and participation in yoga.
Participants should be enrolled in an Iyengar yoga class and be free of acute injuries. Students with special needs are asked to contact Louie before registering.
Daily Schedule:
7:30 to 8:30 am: Sitting and pranayama
8:30 to 9:30 am: Small breakfast
10 am to Noon: Asana Class - Progressively building
12:30 to 2:00 pm: Lunch
2:00 to 4:30 pm: Asana Class - Inversions and hip work
Late afternoons and evenings: Optional excursions and quiet walks on the beach
Cost: Accommodation and yoga: Cacilia's Bed and Breakfast. $1600.00 plus transportation. Full amount required by June 30, 2008. No refunds or cancellations after June 30, 2008.

All Levels Workshop

Jo-Ann Sutherland began her study of yoga in 1971 and began teaching in 1978. She holds an Intermediate Junior II certificate and owns and operates the JNS Yoga Studio in Saskatoon. Jo-Ann teaches many classes and workshops at all different levels and also runs a teacher training program. She has studied in Pune India with the Iyengars four times. Jo-Ann is a great believer in the age old adage "When the body is fit the mind will naturally follow". Her teachings are concise, enlightening and fun. Get ready for fall classes with this inspiring teacher.
Jo-Ann has just returned from studying in India. The main focus of the workshop will be her learnings from Pune.

Teacher Training

Jo-Ann Sutherland is the owner/director of JNS Yoga Studio. She began her study of yoga in 1971 and has been teaching since 1978. She has studied and taught the Iyengar method since 1984. She teaches many classes and workshops. She has been a teacher trainer since 1990.
Students must have studied Iyengar yoga for a minimum of three years with a certified Iyengar teacher and be pre-approved by Jo-Ann Sutherland. Students must commit to attend on the required dates.

2008: September 20-21, October 4-5, November 1-2, December 6-7
2009: January 17-18, February 14-15, March 14-15, April 4-5, May 9-10, June 6-7
