Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute

As a part of ongoing professional development, teachers are encouraged to attend four weeks of public classes periodically at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI) in Pune, India. Public classes are taught by Geeta Iyengar, Prashant Iyengar and other senior teachers from the Institute, with input from Mr. Iyengar. For teachers who are conducting teacher training courses and workshops, four trips to RIMYI or their equivalent are required to qualify as a teacher trainer.

For information about classes at RIMYI and/or to obtain an application form, please consult the Iyengar Yoga Association of Canada document entitled Procedures for Assessment and Certification, available on the Member Page of the IYAC website. If you are an IYAC member and do not know how to access the Members' Page, please contact your Regional Representative. Applicants must expect a waiting period of one and a half to two years before space becomes available.

A deposit of $150 US is required with each application form, and the balance of $300 US is paid at the institute.
